The hydration problem
Cats are built to
ignore still water
House cats descend from desert animals. Their thirst drive is naturally low, and in the wild they instinctively avoid standing water — the kind that goes stale. A bowl on the kitchen floor triggers exactly that instinct.
Moving water reads as fresh and safe. The sound and the ripple bring cats back to drink through the day, without you having to think about it.

Feline hydration
Mild dehydration is the
house-cat default
Cats evolved to take their water from prey, not from a bowl. On a modern diet that moisture largely isn't there — and because their thirst drive is naturally weak, plenty of cats run slightly dry for years without a single obvious symptom.

Where the water is meant to come from
Whatever the food leaves out has to be drunk. A kibble-fed cat has to close almost that entire gap at the bowl — which is the moment how appealing the bowl is stops being a detail.
Fig. 2 — Body composition
Roughly 60% of an adult cat's body weight is water. Blood volume, kidney filtration and urine concentration all draw on that same reserve.

- Many small visits
Less strain on the kidneys
Kidney decline is one of the most common problems cats face with age. More water through the day means more dilute urine and a lighter filtration load — which is why “get more water into them” is usually a vet's first suggestion.
Fewer urinary flare-ups
Concentrated urine is the condition crystals and blockages thrive in, and male cats are the most vulnerable. Steady drinking keeps the system flushing instead of sitting still between visits to the bowl.
The moisture kibble leaves out
Dry food carries a fraction of the water prey does, so the shortfall lands entirely on drinking. Moving, filtered water is the simplest way to make that shortfall easy to close.
Weeks 1–3 — what to watch for
Signs it's working, without a lab test
- Short drinking visits spread across the day, not one long gulp
- Paler, less concentrated urine in the litter tray
- Less interest in the bathroom tap and your water glass
- The tank dropping visibly — proof of what's actually being drunk
A fountain encourages drinking — it doesn't treat anything. If your cat has stopped drinking, is straining in the tray, or is suddenly drinking far more than usual, that's a vet visit, not a shopping decision.

Fits where your cat already drinks
Quiet enough for the living room
At 19.5 × 14.5 cm it takes up less floor than a food bowl, and the matte black body reads as furniture rather than pet gear. The pump sits below the waterline, so what you hear is a soft trickle — not a motor.
- Wide, shallow cat-ear spout that never presses on whiskers
- MAX / MIN window — one glance tells you if it needs topping up
- Works for cats and small dogs sharing the same spot
Five minutes a week. That's it.
-
Fill to MAX
2.2L of tap or filtered water covers most single-cat homes for a full week.
-
Plug in the USB
Any 5V adapter, laptop port or power bank starts the circulation. No adapter in the box.
-
Rinse, swap, repeat
Lift out the lid, spout and pump for a quick rinse; change the filter every 2–4 weeks.
Designed to be forgotten about
Fill it once, and it quietly does its job for the rest of the week.
Multi-stage filtration, not just a sponge
Coconut-shell activated carbon paired with ion-exchange resin traps hair, grit and odours while softening the taste — so the water stays inviting between refills.
Parts, no tools
Lid, spout, pump and filter lift straight out, so the weekly clean takes a couple of minutes at the sink.
A full week of water
2.2L / 74oz covers a cat's intake for days — a weekend away isn't a problem.
Whisper-quiet pump
Around 35dB — below a whisper, far quieter than a fridge hum.
Whisker-friendly spout
A wide, shallow stream that's easy to reach and never crowds the face.
Low-energy USB
A 5V pump draws barely anything, and runs from ports you already have.
Fountain vs. the old ceramic bowl
| This fountain | Standard bowl | |
|---|---|---|
| Water freshness | Circulated and filtered continuously | Goes stale within hours |
| Refills | Roughly once a week | Once or twice a day |
| Appeal to cats | Movement and sound invite drinking | Instinctively avoided when still |
| Hair & debris | Caught by the carbon filter | Floats on the surface |
| Away for the weekend | Covered by the 2.2L tank | Needs a sitter |

Good to know
- No power adapter included. The pump runs from the USB cable — plug it into any 5V adapter or port you already own.
- Replacement filters come as an 8-pack. Swap every 2–4 weeks depending on how many pets share it.
- Keep it above MIN. Running the pump dry shortens its life — the level window makes this easy to spot.
- 30 days to decide. Some cats take a few days to switch over. If yours never does, we refund you.
If your cat won't take to it, you don't keep it. Message our team within 30 days of delivery and we refund the full amount — no restocking fee.

Questions, answered
How long does one fill actually last?
The tank holds 2.2L / 74oz. One cat typically drinks well under 300ml a day, so a single fill comfortably covers a week — and easily covers a weekend away with two cats.
Is the pump loud enough to bother my cat?
It runs at roughly 35dB — below the level of a whisper and quieter than a fridge. Most of what you'll hear is the trickle of water, which is the part cats are drawn to. If it ever gets noisy, the water level has dropped below MIN.
Does a power adapter come in the box?
No — the fountain ships with its USB cable but no wall plug, which keeps it compatible worldwide. Any 5V USB adapter, laptop port or power bank runs it.
How often do filters need changing?
Every two to four weeks, sooner in a multi-pet home or if your cat sheds heavily. The 8-piece replacement set is available here as its own option, so you can stock up in one order.
My cat ignores new things. What then?
Set it where the old bowl stood and leave both out for a few days — most cats investigate the moving water on their own. If yours genuinely won't switch within 30 days, return it for a full refund.
Where do you ship, and what does it cost?
We ship worldwide, free, with no order minimum. You'll get tracking as soon as your parcel leaves the warehouse, and our team is reachable around the clock if anything looks off.
